2021 International Education Forum: Korea’s SDG4 Implementation and Educational Recovery
In 2015, the United Nations adopted the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as the global development agenda for 2030. The Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG4) aims “to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.” Now with the sweeping challenges COVID-19 has brought on the world, it is more vital than ever to meet the SDG4 target to build a better future for education, in which all humanity has the opportunity to learn knowledge and skills to tackle challenges of the future.
As the host of the World Education Forum 2015, the Republic of Korea aims to convene the 2021 International Education Forum: Korea’s SDG4 Implementation and Educational Recovery to serve as a platform for sharing both domestic and international endeavor toward achieving SDG4, and charting a way forward with the international community.
On the first day, renowned education experts from both home and abroad will analyze the progress made in Korea to achieve SDG4, and exchange their views on the agenda for future education.
On the second day, the speakers will discuss the widening learning gaps around the world in the wake of the pandemic and how official development assistance (ODA) in education can contribute to educational recovery. The discussion will also involve Korea’s progress in educational ODA, and what it should focus on going forward.
Please join our conversation on December 9-10 as we take steps together to achieve educational recovery.
